Researching the venue

I like to get to the bottom of things, to fully understand them.  So the next time a bride wants me to check out the ceremony location I will direct her to my latest publication, wearing my archaeology hat, an essay in ‘The church in early medieval Ireland in the light of recent archaeological excavations’.  Just published and on sale from wordwell books.   The essay ‘Ballykilmore – Continuity of an Early Medieval Graveyard’ describes my excavation of an ecclesiatical site in constant use from the 5th to 18th centuries, over a thousand years.
